Wow!! I cannot believe it is already April (somebody pinch me)! Thank goodness time has been flying by since I got back from Christmas and we are now down to just a little over two months until Zach's homecoming. I kind of jumped the gun and already ordered my 'Welcome Home' banner for Zach!! We found out yesterday that he FOR SURE gets to fly home from Hawaii about a week earlier than the ship returns. I could not be happier to have him home sooner and be able to easily pick him up from the airport versus fighting a crowd and LONG day of waiting on base for the ship to sail in.
Last week my Dad flew to San Diego to visit me for a week and we had the most amazing time together. We rented bikes and had several bike rides through Coronado, he showed me around Glendale where my Great Grandpa used to work and live, we hiked at Pt. Loma and attended a preseason Padres baseball game. We also toured the USS Midway, had a family dinner with my Great Aunt in Valencia, fixed up a few things in my house and spent some quality time on the beach across the highway from our house. All-in-all our visit was unforgettable and I know I will forever cherish our memories made. Thank you, Dad!
Also new in my life (which is HUGE) is that I started attending a church on the island. I absolutely love this church and have already met some pretty incredible women. Yesterday I went to the women's bible study and loved it!! I cannot wait to see where my new friendships go and to learn more about our Lord. I also cannot wait to start going to church with Zach when he returns! We have been missing this in our lives and I feel like we will feel so fulfilled now. I thank my sister and dad for encouraging me to find a church to get involved in!!
