WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!!!

Zach and I are SO excited to share the great news that we are expecting our first baby! Around April of this year, while Zach was on deployment, we made the decision to begin trying to get pregnant as soon as he got home. Less than a month after he was home, our dreams came true!

On Friday, July 27th, Zach had to go underway to Seattle for two weeks (this came to us as a complete surprise, less than 24 hours before they left) and I just remember being unable to control my emotions (now we know why☺). A couple days later I spent a while talking to my mom on the phone, describing to her my "symptoms" that were beginning to convince me I was pregnant. On Sunday morning I decided to make a quick trip to CVS for a pregnancy test, not really expecting anything because c'mon, we had only been trying for a month.

I took the first test and noticed the faint pregnancy line appearing, almost immediately. I decided to walk away for three minutes, like the test instructs you to do, then take another glance. OH MY GOODNESS ... it was POSITIVE! I took a picture and text it to my mom and Zach! She called and said, "YOU'RE PREGNANT!" I can't really describe the emotions pumping through my veins. I couldn't believe my eyes. I have been imagining this moment for so many years and it was finally here! I feel like God has opened my eyes and heart to motherhood and this is what I am meant to do ... be a mommy.

About 30 minutes after I found out I was pregnant, Zach called from the ship phone. I asked if he had seen the email I sent and he said no. I couldn't wait any longer so I said to him, "We're pregnant!" He didn't believe me at first! Then, he started to freak out ☺ He said, "Oh my goodness, I think I'm going to pass out. I need to keep moving. No, I want to stay on the phone with you. No, I am going to faint. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness." Needless to say, he was just as excited as me. It stinks that we didn't get to share that moment together but either way, we are thrilled to be expecting!!

I am feeling really good, besides being exhausted, but I'll take it! Our first appointment is on August 30th, then we will get our first ultrasound!!

I have been praying my little heart out for this special baby. We are so ready to be the best parents. There is so much love already, I cannot imagine my heart holding much more or it might just explode! It's kind of funny because Baby Redford will come in April, the same month that my two sweet nieces were born! My parents will be busy with grandchildren's birthday parties that month!!

I have been praying on the following scripture from the moment we decided to get pregnant and will continue to. I know my work in this pregnancy is done, the rest is in God's hands, and I trust that everything is completely perfect.

Psalm 139:13-18
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

Two lines = PREGNANT!
The top two were taken on Sunday, the last was taken the next day and CLEARLY shows two dark lines!!
Baby's first book!
