The Redfords: Trip to LA

Zach and I got home yesterday from a 4-day trip to see family in LA. We had such an amazing time and are so grateful for having pretty incredible people in our lives.

While we were there we went to a taping of the game show Let's Make A Deal (you'll see our dice costume below) and were actually selected to participate in the show! It was such a funny, unforgettable experience! The only downfall was being all bruised up the day after from trying to dance in a box :)

We also went to Griffith Park and caught a great glimpse of the Hollywood sign. Then, went to the Santa Monica pier for an ice cream cone and down the beautiful pacific coast highway through Malibu to Topanga Canyon. All-in-all it was an amazing day spent together!

To top it all off we went to a taping of the Ellen show and really had a blast! We got to see Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games) promote her new movie, Silver Linings Playbook, and some really deserving families receive gifts from Ellen.

My aunt Pam was such an amazing host and I will cherish every memory made with her. It was so great for Zach to finally meet her! We are truly blessed.

On our way into San Diego we stopped and picked up a fresh cut Christmas tree and got our house all decorated. I absolutely LOVE the smell filling the air in my home! We have our turkey thawing and are anxiously awaiting Thanksgiving tomorrow!!

ALSO, the biggest news is that Zach passed his advancement exam and got a promotion to GM3 (Gunners Mate, Petty Officer Third Class). I am so unbelievably proud of him and his accomplishments. He makes huge sacrifices for our family and I could not be more in love with the man that he has become. Congrats GM3 Redford!

We hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving and remember what the holiday is all about. We love and miss everyone but are excited to come home in January!
