37 week update

Wow, I cannot believe I am at week 37! It seems like just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant. I remember that day like it was yesterday!

Overall, I am feeling pretty good. I have been walking 30 minutes a day (more like waddling) to try and move her down into the birth canal. The only downside is that my whole body aches like an old person when I get back from walking!!

I had an appointment a little over a week ago and was not yet dilated but she was head down and in position. I go back to the doctor in three days to be measured again. Fingers-crossed that I have made some progress!

I was having Braxton Hicks contractions all day yesterday, pretty regular and growing in pain. Again, I am hoping that is a sign that something is going on in preparation for Harper's debut! Zach and I had our last nice dinner date night (pre-baby) at Bennihana's last night and it was amazing. The habachi chef kept throwing things trying to startle me and a woman at the table made a comment that he better watch it or I might have my baby right there. It was pretty funny!

We have everything in place now and have transformed our home into one for a baby! Swing and pack n' play downstairs in the living room, carseat installed in the car, stroller in the "go" position, mommy and baby's hospital bags are packed, everything is washed and sterilized, all we need now is baby Harper :)

I am feeling so excited, a little anxious, but mostly excited about becoming a mommy. I cannot wait to see Zach become a father. That is probably what I am most looking forward to. We have had countless talks now about our plans on raising Harper and what we want to instill in her. Our number one goal is to instill 100% confidence in her, something that I never had and am to this day working on. I think it is so important that she be confident in herself and not fearful of everything around her. I trust that we are going to be the best parents we can be for her and will learn so much about ourselves, as well, along the way.

Thank you, Lord, for giving us this amazing blessing. Please pray for us that we have a non-complicated labor and delivery and that myself and Harper are healthy. Please also pray that Zach and I find the strength to embrace new parenthood and give us the wisdom we need to care for Harper, as I know the first few weeks are going to be extremely difficult for us.

We love you all and will post updates and pictures as soon as they come!
